There is freedom of religion in the United States.
Ideally, this country is not based on one group of people.
Ideally, this country is not based on one race and this country is not based on one religion.
Ideally, the United States of America is based on every single person that lives there,
people of both genders, of every race, of every background, of every walk of life, a big, colourful rainbow of people with every one of them being totally different from another.
The differences between people, their physical appearance, their ideas, their beliefs, their interests, that is what makes us interesting. That is what makes us beautiful.
I will tell you what is NEVER beautiful: when one group of people singles another out and tries to treat them differently than everybody else.
That really gets me.
We are all people. Here on this Earth, we are all people. And all people are different. We should be fighting for each other, to give everyone the opportunity to be happy, to live and thrive. We should be fighting to eliminate starvation and homelessness, to cure disease...
We should be fighting to get people out of abusive relationships, to give people support for mental illness, to teach each other that we are all human and we are all together. It is not me versus you. We are all on the same team here. If you fight with other people on your team, hell if you're gonna win in the end.

This is why I am completely appalled that there are still so many people struggling to be given basic civil rights in a country that claims to have "liberty and justice for all", a country in which "all men are created equal."

It is obvious that marriage is not always necessarily a religious thing in this day and age. Perhaps that is where it started, but tons of people who are not at all religious get married every day. Even Atheists, even Satanists can get married.
People who oppose gay marriage are using this as an excuse to deny me MY rights, but it's completely ridiculous. I would completely understand the opposition of gay marriage if only Christians were allowed to marry. I would have absolutely no problem with it. I don't deny that it says in the Bible that homosexuality is wrong, even if God and my own natural instinct personally tell me otherwise. For whatever reason, the Bible does say that and I don't blame Christians for believing it at all, but you can't pick and choose when you want to enforce something and when you don't. It's as simple as that. You can't say it's wrong to murder someone because they get in your way but it's not wrong to murder them as revenge.

If you still oppose gay marriage in spite of this, then you are obviously a bigot and just trying to use the law to back up your hate, which is not acceptable. Anyone can tell you that is not acceptable.

I sincerely hope that all of this will be behind us as soon as possible.
Thank you and I love you all,

Pony
